Job Function
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor will be based out of Lockland, OH, and will be responsible for assisting with the overall operational responsibilities for our Lockland, OH Color Solutions facility, which reinforces great safety and quality practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate employees to maximize productivity and minimize operating costs.
- Coach, counsel, train and develop employee skills.
- Review work schedules and production schedules for optimum results.
- Ensure that products are produced at an acceptable quality level.
- Drive department compliance with established safety, training and ensure compliance with all company policies, plant rules and all regulatory agencies.
- Facilitates operations, training and qualification processes.
- Maximizes operational efficiency by ensuring that units run in optimal operating conditions to maximize product yields.
- Participate in and lead LEAN manufacturing activities as needed.
- Conduct routine safety and sanitation inspections to promote employee safety and good housekeeping.
- Schedule production for the plant’s product circuits.
- Manages productivity and efficiency using metrics and continuous improvement protocols.
- Possesses and continuously develops knowledge of customer requirements and factory’s ability to produce.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Fill in for Production Manager when needed.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, quality systems, OSHA and EPA requirements, and ERP systems.
- Strong computer proficiency and ability to utilize operational systems and reporting tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing production schedules and monitoring operational performance metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to develop employees and improve operational efficiency through process improvements.
