Outside Sales Engineer- Semiconductor (Texas)

This role is part of a global industrial solutions organization focused on electric process heating and temperature management technologies for demanding, high‑performance applications.

Durex Industries has over 40 years’ expertise in the thermal control business. A trusted custom thermal solutions supplier and engineering design partner for customers across a range of industry sectors, it also offers engineering, manufacturing, testing and laboratory and quality assurance services.

Job Summary

As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for driving growth within the Semiconductor market by developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and positioning Durex Electric Thermal Solutions as the preferred partner for electric heating applications.

This role combines technical expertise and commercial leadership, requiring someone who can understand customer challenges, develop tailored solutions, and convert opportunities into profitable business.

The position will initially focus on key semiconductor hubs in the Texas region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth within the Semiconductor market.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, emerging technologies and market trends.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, engineering firms, consultants, contractors and end users.
  • Promote and specify Durex Electric Thermal Solutions across major projects and applications.
  • Provide technical consultation and support throughout the sales process.
  • Work closely with application engineering and internal teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
  • Prepare and review quotations, technical proposals and project documentation.
  • Manage and track opportunities through the CRM system to ensure effective pipeline management.
  • Deliver customer training and education on Durex products and solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor products, market activity and industry developments.
  • Support forecasting, strategic account planning and regional growth initiatives.
  • Drive opportunities from specification through to project award and execution.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in technical sales, applications engineering, engineering consulting, or business development within the Semiconductor industry.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, systems, or associated technologies.
  • Experience presenting technical solutions to customers and translating engineering requirements into commercial opportunities.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and project documentation.
  • Proven experience managing opportunities through a CRM system and progressing complex sales cycles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and networking skills.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% within the region.
  • Relevant site or industry certifications are advantageous.
  • Candidate is required to be located within or around the Austin, Texas area.

Compensation

Pay Range: $83,500 - $130,000, variable pay and car allowance.
