About the Organization:
Chromalox, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is part of a global industrial organization that delivers electric process heating and temperature management solutions for complex applications.
We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to lead the financial operations of a manufacturing facility. This role serves as a key member of the plant leadership team, providing financial guidance, operational insight, and strategic support to drive performance and profitability. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, manufacturing finance expertise, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all plant-level accounting and financial reporting activities
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Analyze production costs, inventory, and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Partner with plant leadership to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and performance reports
- Support internal and external audits as needed
- Lead and develop finance and accounting team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 5–10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing or plant-level finance leadership experience
- Experience driving process improvements and cost optimization initiatives
- Familiarity with inventory management and standard costing
